Never Judge A Book By It's Cover

My faith in mankind was restored today. have you ever seen one of the younger male generation in the baggy jeans and baseball cap sideways on their head? I saw one in Walmart today. My first thought was what a idiot. Then God changed my view. Right then my cart I was ridding just stopped, I couldn't make it go at all. My basket was full and I was to far from the front to walk. I kept moving it with my feet and it would go a few inches. Then the young gentleman approached me as said, "mam I went to the front for you and someone is coming to help." Thank you didn't seem like enough. But I decided to try not to judge some one's inside by their outside. I don't know his name nor will I ever see him again, but hope is not lost with all of our younger generation.

HELP I'VE FALLEN AND CAN'T GET UP

I realize it has been a long, long time since I have published. Don't have an excuse.
Today I went to Brownwood with husband to tackle packing up some more of his dad's house. Things went good, and we went to have lunch with his aunt and cousin. He let me out at the front door, I stepped out of the truck, closed the door, took one step and that is all I remember until the some men were calling me mam, several times. The firetruck came, and the EMT's. i had gone into very low blood sugar. I got to drink a real coke. I bumped my head scraped both elbows, and screwed up my left knee. I'm OK, and expect to be sore tomorrow.

How Rude!

We are finally going to Michigan to see the twins & Noah, oh I almost forgot,
Audra and Pat too. Preparing for this event I have been shopping for baby cloths and Harry Potter books. Today I went out to the Wal Mart on the north side of town. I was looking for a handicapped space and saw a man unloading his sacks into his trunk. I politely ask if I could have the cart and said sure. I parked and he even brought the cart to me. I started to the door and an outside basket guy was walking toward me, and just stopped and didn't say a thing. Wen on i to the store found what I was looking for and went out. I put my sack in the car and proceeded to put the cart where the baskets were and here came the same cart guy. I ask "are you here for this cart?" His answer was "yes and don't ever pull that again". I just laughed and went on my way. You can count on two things. 1)I will report his rude behavior to the manager & 2)I won't go back to that Wal Mart.

Pool Time

We had our first swim of the summer on Saturday. The water temp was 86, it felt good. Justin can touch the bottom in the shallow end he would just bounce along on his tiptoes. Cameron loved pushing him in. We had a great time.

The Best Test Ever

I took the test and I don't see it, but I am Yoda

You are wise beyond your years — a sage for the ages, the master's master. That's why your Star Wars type is Yoda. Sure, you might not look too much like the little green Jedi Master, but you have a quiet contemplative way about you that commands respect.People trust you, especially your friends who are constantly coming to you for advice and sometimes predictions. While you may not be able to tell them who's going to win the big game, you do possess the rare ability to see the big picture. You never lose sight of the fact that we're all part of a greater whole. It keeps you grounded and balanced, and it's the perfect cover for a mischievous sense of humor that always catches others off-guard. This mix of wisdom and impish delight promises to bring you long life...another thousand years or so anyway.

Burn-Burn

You would think I would have learned my lesson with the boiling water (Feb. 2007). This isn't the same but you know what happens when you lift the lid off of a steamer? Burns just as bad. I told David I needed a sling for my thumb. He just laughed. Another burn blister on the top of my left thumb. Oh well, life goes on.

Monz

In case you are wondering what or who is Monz. She is my grandmother, if she were still alive she would be 107 on July 4. She has been on my mind yesterday & today. I made me a new Recipe Box and transferred all of my recipes over & came upon some of hers. Most of them on paper written in pencil, some on bank deposit slips. She was a wonderful cook, but very few of her recipes had directions, just ingredients. Hers always came out great. She was my only living grandmother, (my mom's mother died when she was very young) I can almost taste her Tea Cakes just thinking about them now. She was a home maker and was home all day, so my brother and I stayed every day with her. I remember popcorn cooked on the stove in a kettle, I can feel the cold crisp sheets and how heavy the quilts were on me when I spent the night there. She had a quilting loom that hung from the ceiling over the bed I slept in. It was on a pulley system, so she could raise it out of the way.

All of my memories of her are wonderful, and I hope one day my grandchildren can remember me with the happy thoughts I have of her.
